likelihood is that siad barre was soviet’s and they had more than enough of their oil for them to fund any oil infrastructure outside of soviets land and he switched to the west too late but he did sign with american oil companies but it was too late as the civil war kicked off but still even then american oil companies did urge bill clinton to intervene but that was disastrous. our best chance us with turkey as they are eager to be energy independent

it’s literally not guyana was drilling for 20 years before they struck gold and they have 11 billions of oil and it completely changed their gdp, there has never been any drilling in somalia we never got that stage
