Makes sense. They got whatever they wanted.

Interesting.

Might I clarify, the couple are married. I’m not referring to a single parent situation.
Yes it doesn’t matter. The parents always overlook everything since they only have one kid OR they push the child to an extreme so the kid becomes a genius.

I Grew up with 11 siblings each with a different character and looks. The more kids in the house the more interesting the house will be and your children won’t end up being xaasid because they constantly have to share things. You’ll make that child’s life depressing if you left him with no siblings. If his parents die he will no longer have any family.

I used to think I only want 1 child or 2 max. But when my mum got ill/passed away AUN, I realised how important having a large family was. I cannot imagine if I had to deal with all that on my own or have only 1 person to help out.

But I wouldn’t want a massive family like my parents either.

A lot of Somalis (younger generation) are having smaller families. My friends/cousins with families mostly have 2-3 children .

If you live in the West it makes sense . The house will not feel overcrowded, you will have more time to spend with each child and you have more money to do things such as going on holidays and extracurricular activities.

I agree, if you insist on minimal children then 2 children is best.

It has been proven many times in either competitive sports, academics, or arts that the younger sibling often surpass their older sibling because they have someone to compete against and work with.

Also, it’s just less lonely. What happens when you and your spouse aren’t at home and they are? They’ll just be all alone, most likely they’ll be on the internet doing god knows what.

Having 1 child may seem efficient, but it’s really not that fair to your kid when you could have potentially gave them a better life if they had an older or younger sibling.

4 is the max and I want them to be one year apart so won’t have to worry about them in the future
