The Organization of African Unity (OAU), the predecessor of the African Union, was established in 1963. Somalia had the privilege of hosting one of the summits in Mogadishu, 1974, when Siyaad Barre was chairman of the OAU.

This information is new to me so I kinda wanted to share what I found. More information would be greatly appreciated

My aunt was student at university and she worked hostesses at that event. She talks lot of that event and how the country organized it very well.

The father left Somalia for Somaliland but after he lost he didn't go back to Somalia. He went to the Middle East to retire instead.

The son cries in Xamar everyday that he cannot visit his family in Hargeisa because he's persona non grata in SL and will get a one way ticket to Mandheera prison
