These refugees you want to accept will also be coming from similar backgrounds. The high tfr is a fact, there are and will be a lot of Somalis. We won’t have to worry about not having a lot of people for quite some time. In the meantime, the more important task is to elevate the people living in Somalia. Education leads to social mobility, civic pride and literacy, access to knowledge.

Somalia is literally rebuilding now and will unironically be a good country in 10 years. The last thing we need is influxes of different cultures potentially messing things up. We don't need this right now.

Receiving them can be a net-benefit if it's controlled and documented migration, economically speaking.

The uncontrolled nature of it in Puntland put strain on local resources , at the same time the unregulated flow created security problems, like smuggling, potential to joining foreign terrorists, trafficking of minors (like the children begging network), abandoned orphans and stealing and looting in public spaces.

If it's controlled like other migrants and refugees that come to Somali areas, they can smoothly integrate like many of them already have.

Ethiopians act largely indifferent to each-other especially if you are not family. It's something i have noticed, heck even beyond Oromo's who come to Somalia to find employment opportunities or become beggars, it's because Somalis are willing to give and help.

Because you can see this other places , where Somalis will go out to help others in need and that's why area's we live in are popular in drawing in non-Somalis trying to escape poverty.

I agree with you but our population is majority uneducated from what I hear. We need to open schools and Universities and educated at least some people to a high standard so that they can utilise our work force. The only decent thing I can imagine Palestinians and other refugees will bring is expertise with them.

Creating jobs will be easy. We have so much land to build on because there's so much we could do. Our population just isn't skilled enough for it on a country wide basis.

Ironically, Europe did something similar. Countries like Germany, France and the UK imported immigrants as a labour force.
