Regarding the absurd cases of Cannibalism and Stabbings of Somalis by Oromo, it would be hypocritical of me to use that as a reason to have Oromos deported from Somali lands. There are millions of them and it’s bound that there are psychotic people in every community. Regardless, I fully believe that Oromo’s have an expansionist belief in their country and too many of them have shown that they will use mass immigration and assimilation to expand then eventually expell Somalis and other natives from their lands. We have seen this time and time again in Harar and Dir Dhabo, which they both claim as Oromo land. As for the crimes, we already have enough criminals of our own, we need a tight security to ensure that only low-risk and sane people can enter our land.

I believe deportation is okay as long as we follow it legally. I do not believe in deporting people in the same-day they are arrested. They should be given a notice and shall have time to arrange their finances and living situation before they are deported. This should only be handled by the government not citizens, to ensure due process. Anyone who violates this should be held in the court of law. Oromos and other illegal immigrants should be treated humanely while also ensuring our borders are secured and all immigration is documented and legal.

I do not want to spread hate as I would not want my people treated similarly, also creating an environment where migrants are treated like dogs is not good for the morality of the public and citizens. I have seen with my own eyes how lack of humanity has affected some Muslim and non-Muslim groups in mistreating all migrants/expats as “beneath them”.

I get your point of view. You're essentially arguing for due process, a functional legal system and an effective police force to only legally deal with the Oromo who commit crimes, leaving the others alone.

That's why on my first post, I said that although Puntland is legitimately trying their best in this regard, the police force there isn't as sophisticated as it is in the West. Since safety is a priority and people cannot 100% rely on the government's capacity to keep them safe, to deal with a danger seen, they'll take matters into their own hands. It's situational, not systematic.

As for the deportation, it's being done by the government. It was legally mandated. There's no vigilante justice there.

You are essentially saying I’m worried for nothing, and I do trust the Puntland government, but my response is towards your 4th paragraph. It makes no sense. There is no realistic and sensible way of going about that. You speak as though Oromos are out here breaking into every other person’s house each night and the people are now putting human traps for them. Like a Mouse and Cheese Trap.

Deporting Oromos is not hard, unless the Puntland government is that incapable. It’s easy to report someone you suspect and it is easy to verify if someone is Somali or not.

They apparently arrive without a penny and only some utensils. If some of them have businesses or even Somali family members then that is another matter.

I went to Garowe in 2018 and there was nowhere near the amount of Oromo being reported now. This is an expansionists command from Abiy Ahmed's regime.

If you came as a destitute individual, with expansionist ideology, then you should be deported within the same day or week.

A strong stance against this new trend will deter further incursions. Settlement should be through legitimate means and subject to certain conditions. You should have employment and contacts within Somalia and id documents. Otherwise the stance of Puntland is legitimate and exact.

I would say they should not only deport but imprison and question the more questionable migrants. The bottom line is that Oromo should not feel comfortable with their expansionist aspirations on Somali lands.
