Other races of Humans in Islam

Despite what i say as banter, all modern Humans are one race and all related through common ancestor not too long ago.

When I mean "other races" Is thr ancient groups of Humans like Neanderthal and Denisovans who were ancient races of Humans that were like us but differed.

Before our race took expanded from east Africa and exterminated and interbred with them, that's why Europeans have small Neanderthal dna of 6-9% and South east Asians have Denisovan dna of 4-6%.

So my question is what does Islam say about these ancient races of Humans that died off around the ice age ?

I recently explored a cryptozoology video (just for entertainment) and came across the idea of Neanderthals being portrayed as super predators that once hunted humans in the Middle East. It was quite an interesting watch! What's funny is that before the 2000s, "Neanderthal" was often used as an insult to describe someone as unintelligent. But ever since it was discovered that people of European descent have the highest percentage of Neanderthal DNA, perceptions seem to have shifted.

Please keep in mind Neanderthals were cannibals, so hunting humans is not out of the question, the uncanny valley and all the myths surrounding human-like creatures that hunted us is spread all over the world, we have stories about buti(bear/monster), that can speak and pretend to be human.

They don’t hold a massive issue within islamic theology as there is nothing to affirm or conntradict the existence of other homonid species. Just like the quran doesn’t affirm or deny the existence dinosaurs.

Yep, it's more about the message. I see science as something to understand, and our deen is the meaning behind that understanding. Like the big bang for example, how can something come from literally nothing unless there is a creator (Allah swt)

Yeah also the quran is a book of guidance for humanity it’s not a science book. There are scientific truths within the quran but its not the goal of it. The mentioning of neanderthals would be meaningless reference as nobody for atleast 1400 years would understand the concept. If this was a book for all time it had to be useful for everyone ranging from the farmer to the philosopher.

In surah Baqarah, when Allah declares his intention to create humans, the angels responded by saying (interpretation of meaning):

˹Remember˺ when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to place a successive ˹human˺ authority on earth.” They asked ˹Allah˺, “Will You place in it someone who will spread corruption there and shed blood while we glorify Your praises and proclaim Your holiness?” Allah responded, “I know what you do not know.” Surah Baqarah, Ayah 30

It seems that the angels already had experience with witnessing the behavior of human-like beings, hence their objections. The traditional explanation for this is that the angels were referring to the jinn (who were created before humans), but I heard of another explanation that the angels were referring to pre-human hominins or even aliens.

I believe in evolution as it’s very obvious that life changes over time. However I also believe that Adam(As) and Hawa(AS) was created miraculously by Allah as the first of the modern humans.

I am an adamic exceptionalist.

Nice to know there are others that have similar thoughts on hominids and evolution. I also wonder how prophets were sent to mankind when for most of human history we were hunter gatherers. Also all stories of prophets in the quraan take place in agricultural societies.

Science is, to some extent, influenced by politics, which is why, for example, the genetics of Australian natives is a largely overlooked topic. If these species had survived into the modern era, our definition of what it means to be human would likely have expanded. I would assume that they are also to be considered part of humanity whenever they are mentioned in the Quran and Hadiths.

I honestly think that human society were much more advanced for much longer. It not fathomable that modern humans which were very similar to you and me were around for 300,000 years and for the vast majority of it were just hunter gatherers. Imo that makes no sense thinking people for that long just did nothing but hunter gather
