It's no secret that rape is a huge issue, not just in Somalia, but worldwide. We hear of the brutalities from Amisom soldiers to women in Mogadishu. We hear of French soldiers and women in Djibouti. And then we hear about geeljires raping women and young girls across the nation.

What is shocking to me is that Puntland, in September built the very first DNA Forensic Lab for testing with rape kits. How in 2017 is that the first one in all of the country?

Nonethless, it is a step in the right direction and every state should have atleast one.

I agree. I've been to places in Somalia where rape is swept under the rug. I'm so glad Puntland is setting an example for other medieval Somalis and teaching them how to advocate for women.

They were flogged and imprisoned for a number of years. That young lady, got the justice she deserved. Can't really say the same for Samosaland and Koonfur.

This is simply untrue. To spread false information like this is dangerous. For years, we have seen article after article mentioning rape in Somalia. It is not our fault that people like you choose to single out Puntland. I can find ten times as many articles for just Mogadishu alone.

And he was hunted down, all the way to Kismayo, and now he's being extradited to PL, to face punishment. Even though he violated the code in the past, I think you misunderstood him in this thread. He wanted to stress how far PL went to serve justice by following a laandheer soldier all the way to Kismayo in order to give justice to a non local girl, who hails from a small clan.
