It seems that it is beyond that. The religious Pakistanis and the supporters of Imran Khan seem to resent the government and support the Afghanistan one more.

Pakistan is a huge deal. They would probably just dismantle the military infrastructure like they did in Syria in the worst case scenario.

But Pakistan like Egypt has a large and powerful military which is firmly backed by the west.

But if the populace revolts and they go to war with Afghanistan as well things can escalate very quickly.
