If Somaliland were to ever become independent, it would be be a no-brainer for a Darood President to sign the divorce papers provided we give up our land claims to Harti lands in eastern SSC.

I agree it is shared that is why I said eastern SSC. I would give away the gray areas between SL and PL with no hesitation only if it would guarantee international recognition for Somaliland.

Also SL has been sorting opreate as a country and been dealing with international organzitions on their own be half and one the biggest reasons that i think you wont be recognized anytime soon is the amount of corruption. SL has been given alot money to built it self up and that money disappeared without anything being done. So you guys are basiclly trying to buy a house with bad credit.

I never suggested SL will flourish or thrive if it breaks away, but being a recognized state means it will have access to intentional capital and lending markets and seat at the table of nations. That is enough as a first step for me and a lot more than we have now.

The one holding back SL from being recognised is Somalia. No nation or oganisation will recognise a country that isn't even acknowledged by the country it's seceding from. Ironically it was somalia who never existed as a recognized country. It went from Somalia Italiana under colonial rule to the non legally binding union with Somaliland as The Somali Republic on July 1st 1960. Somalia had no post colonial recognition as a Country from the UN whatsoever
