They’re right to be defeatist, maybe the Labour guy will change the dismal trajectory but he seems to be very bad at debating and speeches in general.

That’s true, but why would you be defeatist when it’s already over. Like these guys don’t want to fix the problems, they just complain about them but they aren’t willing to change.

They’re like somalis, just willing to accept the status quo if it doesn’t dramatically alter their daily life.
