Poland to overtake Japans Gdp per capita next year

Japan should accept Filipinos and Vietnamese to fill jobs that locals do not want to do. The median age in Japan is 45. At that age, most people are not going on trips, spending excessively, or buying houses. Instead, they are focused on saving for retirement. Japan should open its borders to Filipinos with university degrees who are over 20 years old. By welcoming a significant number of people and massively reforming the work culture, the negative impacts will be offset.

Singapores TFR is 0.96. It takes in massive amount of foreign labour. And has eased up on immigration. This would also help to kick the can further for the later generations to accept.

Japan had the craziest decline plaza accords killed them Regan turned them into uncle Sam’s personal lapdog

They were about to become the worlds largest economy 30 years ago crazy how quickly stuff changes

@The truth seeker Many Vietnamese own houses. And earn 400$/monthly. My buddies uncle rents out trucks for firms. Makes 4k/monthly. Vietnam isn’t so bad. They also got universal healthcare. Asia isn’t so bad. Atleast the middle-class over there can afford house. The middle-class in the west is cooked

Vietnamese diaspora is very wealthy a couple of my buddies are starting to talk about going back to the homeland

The Philippines will likely remain poor its way behind the rest of Asia they never really recovered from World War Two and spanish/ American colonization there current wealthy families and political dynasties are oligarchies which were created by the U.S army Japan and South Korea are similar but way better off

@Hurder I know Poland's absolutely killing it right now but the general trend right right now is that Asia/latin American countries are growing at really fast rates while most western countries are economically stagnating they might not be able to afford there welfare state in the future which is why France had to raise there retirement age last year

This ridiculous net zero carbon initiatives(thanks greta) and high tax and burdensome regulatory environment is will be the nail in the coffin the western world will be a footnote in history pretty soon

America will be fine as long as they stick to there current economic model and trump don’t get rid of NAFTA however the Mexican mass immigration will be shut down soon it’s already slowing Mexico is on track to be a developed country relatively soon this means America will have to find another source of immigration otherwise it will age more quickly

If Trump pays of the debt , follows through with his 500 billion dollar AI investment ,signs free trade with UK , and gets that 1 trillion dollar foreign investment from Saudi Arabia it’s smooth sailing from there

Seems like a temporary band-aid to me. Immigration in general is such. What happens when even these poorer countries begin to population decline which they will and are slowly starting to? Global capitalism will eventually have to face the unsustainable state of demographic affairs it has created.

The question everyone should be asking is what happens when some of those poorer countries become developed what will you fix your demographic issue then ?

Mexicans for example have stopped coming to the US in large numbers the past decade there country has recently become a upper middle income country NAFTA was a blessing which is why they have been appeasing Trump

The broader trend is that there will be very few countries soon with a birth rate above replacement some countries will be worse off than others though
