ahmed guray ruled all somalis, after he defeated the christians(xabashis) divided the spoils to each qabil, he gave the ciise the sultanate of ifat(djbouti) he gave the other dirs dire dawa which translates as where the dir hit. he gave isaaqs the kingdom of herer but we were expelled or left, hawiye got the south and jebertis didnt stay in one spot. trust me somalis were united and each clan or subclan had a specif roles, the minority clans the gaboye/tumal etc were the skilled people and they would make weopens and other necessary equipment so they were the poorest since they couldnt feed people as this was not their role, isaaq and jebertis were suppose to feed people and never do anything menial such as labour, their jobs was breed camelsg/goats/cattle and make sure everyone has meat to eat and milk to drink, plus their roles were to fight and defend, so isaaq and jeberti were the richest since they could feed people from their animals they could marry from other clans and their numbers would only grow plus they had the highest status, hawiye and dirs played the same role as jeberti and isaaq but the leadership roles were played by hawiye and dirs. ahmed guray was a dir by the way and its only after him that we all took our share of the pie and seperated. as you can imagine the biggest shares went to ciise, isaaq jeberti and hawiye.

not a single part is false.

each qabil has roles, the domininat ones where xoolodhaqato(livestock cultivators) this is the role of my clan the isaaq and the role of other dirs along with jeberti and hawiye. they were responsible for providing meat and milk from their animals especially the camels. the minority clans the tumal and gaboye did not play this role and did not own a relevant amount of animals if any at all but their role was skill labour such as being metal-smiths this ofcourse means they are the poorest since they can not feed people which then means marriage is rare for them and the richer clans the xoolodhaqato can inter marry from one another since giving your daughter to a man with many camels/sheep/cattle is responsible but giving your daughter to a man who makes weapons and owns no animals is irresponsible. so these minority clans were doomed very early on.

second point i made is ahmed guray ruled all somalis through islamism, he launched a campaign against xabashis because they were a christian empire, he terrorized them so badly the xabashis never dared to expand in to our side of africa. after ahmed died we isaaqs took harar which is in modern day ethiopia and we had our own kingdom until we were either expelled or left, the ciise took what is modern day djibouti and they created their sultanate of iffat, other dirs took the land known as dira dawa in modern day ethiopia also dira dawa means "where the dir hit"
hawiye took the south and jebertis lived in both bari,ogaden region,sool,sanaag etc..

My fellow Isaaq I have a confession to make. Recently I have become pro union. I support somaliland existing as an Isaaq power base which we use to negotiate the sweetest federalism deal yet seen. I would want somaliland to be a "mamul gobaleed" and we should be the regional state that countrols all of Somalia military/security affairs since we already have the strongest somali armed forces out of Puntland and the south put together.
