Rice & spice did not even originate from Yemen whats your point

What are you talking about?

All I said is that you are wrong by claiming Aseed is Yemen’s main dish.

It’s laughable to even claim that. I never said rice and spice originated in Yemen wtf.

:draketf:

Even if this was yemeni food for arguments sake, saudis also made kabsa (a dish originating in yemen) their national dish, not to mention their mandi eating habits. Both libya and sudan have a version of Aseed which they call a very similar name. People copy from eachother all the time, yemeni people wear sarongs which they adopted from indonesians and eat food condiments like pickled limes on the side which they got from indians, historically spices and seasonings were imported to them by indians aswell, people need to remember their history in order to be humbled

Not it isn’t.

Ask any Arab and they will tell you that Yemenis are known for Mandhi (Bariis iskukaris) and zhug (bisbaas).
Throwing meat and spices into a pot with some rice aint something exclusive to yemenis, you will find people across the ME and NA making all those dishes
u think is urs, ur not special lmao

Wtf

All I said was Mandhi was Yemen’s national dish and you interpreted that as me saying “Yemen invented meat, rice and spices”.

Also, I’m from Somalia.

:mjlol:

Somalis don't claim mandi or eat mandi and if we did we would literally have a dish with the name mandi yet literally every other Middle Eastern country makes it so I don't see how your point is relevant, there's a difference between me claiming Mandi as my cultural food and me serving it in a restaurant lmao

Why are you arguing with me?

I don’t disagree with you.

How come you can't find this food in Somalia? They dont even eat chicken. Its considered the lower man's food, along with seafood. It was only recently that it was introduced to cater to diaspora and foreigners. Ask for chicken in Somalia just a few years ago and you'd be looked at like an alien and they would lose respect for you.

These foods are only available in Somali restaurants in the west sort of like how Chinese restaurants in China do not have lemon chicken, general tso, chicken fried rice, ginger beef. Somali restaurants in the west are the 2.0 of Chinese restaurants in the west.

The meat looks great though. I'll skip the rice, a useless food.
Nah we got fish based dishes in Somalia
Fish is eaten in Berbera too. The retard geeljire taboo is slowly dying
Reer Laasqoray eat fish, thats why we're called Tuna
