The IC is a broad term. If you mean the EU/UN/US/AU by the IC than it would be a gift for Turkey to have them gone. Farmaajo would get only stronger. The Turkish army is a war machine and it doesn't shy away from battles or eliminating its opponents as many pro-Saudi/Emirati/Iranian commanders in Syria found out the hard way and now lay retired in their graves.

I view Farmaajo as a weak leader. He is not a dictator or a warlord. But he has a role to play at this moment in Somali history. I believe there is no real threat to him at the moment from any local player. The washed-up opposition has no actual support domestically or internationally to tilt the scales. It is obvious Turkey is not leaving no matter what. To the contrary, the Turks are about to increase their involvement. If you didn't notice Kenya and Ethiopia are no longer playing a defining role in Somali politics as it was a couple of decades ago. The Emiratis/Saudis have their limits as Qatar is firmly in the Turkish camp and acts as a counterbalance.

I believe Somalia has great future, just like the rest of Africa. We just need to play our cards right and be united.

China just wants to secure its maritime trade routes, hence Djibouti.

Russia had an opportunity to set up a Naval base in Berbera, but chose Port of Sudan. It will be a small operation set up for refueling its Naval ships. It is very hard for Russia to project sea power as its Navy is very weak compared to the US and China.

The UAE left Berbera and now packing up in Assam, Eritrea. Biden wants the Yemeni conflict gone and Emiratis are finding out it is too expensive to maintain Naval facilities without having its own actual Navy in proper scale. And those bases don't even have a purpose now.
