Eritrea never supported Al Shabaab. It was Ethiopia this entire time. They used this blatant lie to isolate Eritrea from the international community and it worked. Eritrea was sanctioned for human rights abuses and support for Al Shabaab.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia, who we all know is the real Shabaab supporter, along with Kenya, UAE, and Qatar weren't even called out despite tons of evidence of their support for Al Shabaab.

If Eritrea supported Al Shabaab there would have been at least ONE attack on Ethiopia but in Al Shabaab's 10+ years of terror, there have been none. They attacked Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique, but somehow forgot Ethiopia.

Now that Ethiopia has reconciled with Eritrea, suddenly there is no more reason to sanction them. Suddenly the human rights abuses and support for Al Shabaab that Eritrea has been accused of (and that Ethiopia is guilty of) have all stopped. They aren't even trying to hide it. The UN Secretary-General admits it himself.

@Crow crazy story I heard happened in Garbaharey the SNA troops there decided to one day do clean out operation on Al Shabab from a town called Tulo Barwaaqo maybe 30 km away the Ethiopian general got word of it and told them don’t attack it would be foolish to do that without our support but they were hard headed and attacked anyway and they literally walked into an ambush on the way and got decimated the Xabashis took their sweet time to come as reinforcements even when their base was very close by in the area when SNA sarakiil asked the Ethiopians why didn’t you come as back up they just told them we told you not to go
