Puntland Fishing Industry News

Tjioux

the pussy is never yours, its just your turn.

Inshallah when I'm done studying, i want to save up money and invest in something back home.

Imagine how many jobs that would be created for our people.

.

If we had a fish processing industry in every major costal city, one in Saanag(Mayd or laasqorey), one in Bari(bosaso or haafun), one in Nugaal(Eyl), one in Mudug(garacad or hobyo) , one in Gaalgadud( Dhusamareb), one in Mogadishu and so forth....
We would have easily feed not only our people but also the whole of east africa and beyond. No more people dying in hunger :friendhug:

Does anyone know how much it would cost to build a fish industry like the one above?

Not only fish industry but also other industries. Like for example camel milk.
Imagine how nice that would be. Made in Somalia :banderas:

High demand for Puntland tuna from fellow Africans

Puntland has focused on reviving fishing industry past couple years and we now have Qandala Tuna fish, Habo Tuna fish and Las Qoray fish. Looks like its gonna take off from here.

How do we know that our fish doesn't have radiation poisoning from all those years of waste being poured in our waters?
Only a verified government fish factories can be trusted to produce canned fish that is safe from toxicity and radiation, and we don't have them right now.

That is why they need capital to invest so they can start to export. Same for Somaliland. It’s a big untapped resource. But everyone is waiting for oil to drip from heaven.

When it comes to fish Puntland has the most in all of Somalia, the people should invest in it and promote eating fish. It still baffles me how people are starving while we have so much fishery.

Some good news:

Im from jilib and its good to see puntland looking to invest in abundant sectors of the economy. I believe petroleum engineers from the diaspora should set up oil fields with funding by the government and people. Then you will see a better somalia for everyone

which clan lives in Jilib? and I think Somalia needs to diversify its economy, the country has a lot of potentials, we should also start producing camel milk at home and look for ways the country can earn more from frankincense trade because right now we are getting scammed. Oil is risky since corruption is there but I feel you it would help a lot.

Sheekhaals, daroods and a few bantus live there. Your right. Oil should be avoided for now but once we get a dictator things will start to rise

That's really a positive step towards diversifying our economy but I will never eat a fish from Somalia. The big pharmaceutical companies of the world constantly dump their waste into our shores and it devastated the health of fish consumers in the country. It's a highly dangerous.

Any research done about the waste dumping in Somalia and the consequences of the marine ecosystem?
