Puntland Highway Authority Infrastructure Thread

If it's even done we will probably wait 3 years for it and then it will crash in on itself and be discarded while the next president does his own 'igu sawirs' to keep the people hopeful of his presidency and their memories forgot all the previous projects 90% that never came thru. Wadaagsin anyone? That Garowe Resort, apparently 10 million, umm wanna go more? That Cement Plant Saboo or whatever it was called!!!

Puntlanders :ulyin:
This is not being undertaken by some lazy Turks or Kuwaitis who prolonged the building of Garowe airport.
Have you forgotten about how quick the Bosaso airport was constructed? It is now the 2nd best in the country just behind the one in Xamar IMO. The Chinese are very time efficient and trustworthy when it comes to construction.

Somalia needs to stop asking for others to build their infrastructural needs, we should invest in cement factories and schools and build our own roads and tunnels at the very least
I agree sxb, we need people with knowledge to do it. Building tunnels in mountains is not an easy task

I am not saying projects are not done, but admit a-lot don't ever get completed either. We have a large number of failed projects, ignoring or won't make it pop up tommorow, we need to acknowledge it and make sure we cut down on this HIGH rate of never completing things we begin!!!

True, but you have to consider who are these people who continuously announce these projects.

Truly, most of them are newcomers into the political scene wanting to make big bucks before he is replaced in a few months, a new wasiir or deputy of some office who then teams up with some low-level company from abroad and gives them contracts for this new project.

Creates a small presentation at some hotel with a few local tv cameras and after a few months the wasiir gets fired and the project get laid to waste.

Repeat this process a few times and that is what causes the high rate of these failed projects.

That why you guess for technical assistance and that's it but I have no clue as to why folks don't invest in a cement factory, the benefits are unreal

Somalis only do something when they see someone else has successfully undertaken the task. Its a business mentality whereby the risk is reduced to zilch.

I remember the Eyl-Garowe road ceremony, Gaas talked about this project and said it would cost around 8 million dollar and that the knowledge is there. I am willing to donate some money, because Somalis building a tunnel would boost our morale immensely. The lack of information in these kind of ceremonies annoy me. Why not say tell about the budget and when they think they'll be done. They are afraid that they won't meet. If they brought a comprehensive and detailed plan, I am sure they would find people to donate.

@sgfrmtheblock where did you get that the Chinese will build it? They said it was an initiative from the people, which means the funding is nowhere near complete. They pobably will go month by mnth just like the Ceerigaabo-ceel daahir road

When the CCEC opened their office in Garowe they mentioned it at the small press conference.
Saying it is planning to build a tunnel and roads at a cost of $8 million. I think you even posted the video a while back.

Abdiweli mentioned it as he was philosophising about the possibilities. You played with my feelings POS

Wadaagsin, That Garowe Resort for 10 million dollars, what about Saboo Cement Plant, that turkish hospital in garowe which was gonna be as good as the one mogadishu as CAMEY put it. I was so excited about that a 40 Million project? Hey guys lets name all the projects you remember that never went thru. I remember reading this article that PL is the land of incomplete projects. They lay the foundation stone down and then that's it, they lay down another in a few months somewhere else and the cycle continues. The opening ceremonies are far less then the iga sawir foundation rock!!!
Wadaagsin was a community project none of the ones you mentioned were initiated by the government of Puntland

do these people expect educated western diaspora to do all the heavy lifting :draketf:

Worse part it is not even innovation we are chasing after, its to copy the projects the west has done 100+ years ago :dead:
Saxib the fact that a road made the news show how fucked we are as a society. When was the last time you heard "government built a road" on your countries national television and then see people hype it up to mass economic development.Somalia as a whole is a , excuse my TRUMP, shithole both physically and psychologically. Its saddening but it happens throughout Somalia.

We need to improve puntland infrastructure as it seems that Puntland have the potential to be the next Singapore of the middle east.

God bless my country and may prosperity be handed to Puntland inhabitants and the rest of Somalia.:ahh:

Why is the central part of the country like Hobyo underdeveloped? Puntland should incorporate it and make it a Five star Port like Dubai.
