Puntland is surpassing the rest of Somalia.

PL is leagues above SL, it's not even close. Read the worldbank poverty profile report form 2017, 2019 & 2023. NE is Puntland & NW is Somaliland.

Wow I didn't realize puntland blew somaliland out of the water like that. It's kind of funny listening to the recent conversation released by the Hudson institute guys talk about somaliland as the sucess story of the horn

1 out of the three times I been to garoowe I have witnessed an armed chimpout. I have footage recorded by a pal I knew on discord who was in the city as well at the time. You won't be able to reverse search this video either.

I was chilling in Martisoor that day and was far from danger.

I hate to be the contrarian here but I found some interesting posts a few years ago that says the opposite. @Idilinaa might want to check it out too.

I don't think its accurate to say any one region blows everyone else out of the water, rather its every region doing well with some like Puntland doing slightly better than the rest.

Selective presentations of the data. You intentionally left out these:

Kismayo has lower poverty rate than Bosasso

@Thegoodshepherd makes out Puntland to be some sort of isolated anomaly in Somalia. The way he speaks about north-east like its piece of jannah. Wake up your shit stinks too.

I think she’s the one who pointed out PL has the highest gdp per capita in all Somaliweyn. On par with Kenya/Ethiopia I think :trumpsmirk:

She pointed out that Puntland has a lower poverty rate than Kenya and Ethiopia despite both countries having bigger GDPs. Quite the astounding feat given Puntland doesn't get any foreign aid and its land is more arid than either countries.

Another thing you can clearly see the difference in Puntland for example which has been the most stable region in Somalia, although Puntland is the most arid region in Somalia compared with the NorthWest/Somaliland and Mogadishu it has the lowest poverty rate . Puntland has lower poverty rate than neighboring Ethiopia and Kenya as well, despite those countries generating more wealth annually with higher growing GDP. 70% of the population has access to clean water, electricity, basic services and education.

This is from a 2017 paper, it was at 27% rate then, twice as less than Mogadishu and Somaliland.

Since then the poverty rate has gone lower across the country and you can see it in the expansion of a middle class, so it probably less than that now in 2024.

The most significant finding is that the marginal gap between the rural and urban population.

This is the biggest evidence against what @Bison trying to insinuate about Somalis, there is not a big gap, only with the displaced.

As for GDP per capita, others have pointed out before that Somalia has yet to get a rebase so Puntland's current GDP per capita figure may not be true and is likely much higher. Wouldn't be surprised if it was on par with Ethiopia to be honest.

I'm not gonna lie the kismayo stats shocked me. There doing much better than I would've thought considering their in the heart of alshabab territory.

Only thing missing is independence from Somalia. Can you guys believe Hassan Buldanana has the audacity to claim that his "government" is involved in the fight against ISIS in Bari region???
The guy can't liberate Middle Shabelle from kebab as his whole clan has become Kebab.

Why did you @ me ?

@Yami showed you evidence of somalilands economy being “leagues ahead” and you tried to spin it back to this report 🤣
He most certainly did not. Im not even sure where that stuff came from. I can’t @ him anymore I would have. Anyway, bowe tell us about what was posted here instead of trying to deflect.

There’s more poor people in cities than villages 😲 wow what a shock. Any basic researcher into geography could have told you this.

That was just a snippetl, these reports are between 150-200 pages, Please read them and come to your own conclusion. PL has achieved this without the autonomy that SL enjoys while the FGS placed an international aid blockade on PL.

We can go metric for metric in those reports and after Banadir, PL will win the most in a tally. That's besides the fact that PL has a better administration than all other federal member states plus that fact it's always generated more revenue.
