Awesome post wallahi.

They are precasting their own bridge girders!!! This is a big milestone. I'm sure they can set up a similar operation else where now alhamdulilah.

Maybe we'll get to see some giant U-Troughs in the years to come? Exciting times indeed.

Where are our civil engineers in Puntland? Surely this is unacceptable road standards. Where is the minister of public works, ma iska hurda, this dude needs to be hanged? The road base below the asphalt hasn't been prepared or treated and this will lead to the asphalt layer deteriorating very fast which means like Berbera bridge it will collapse within a few months due to not being prepared for load capacity or weather conditions, this is not fit to be called a quality built road and our stupid minister isn't creating road standards nor load or weather grade standards that must be met by all tender companies for PL roads. Wallahi it won't handle basic water test let alone load test of trucks nor any mathamatical estimations of quantity of trucks and their capacity multiplied over a time period. This won't last a month let alone years.

If I was Deni, sayfta wa bananka. Heads must roll for the department in charge of PL road standards

I don't know what you're seeing but the base looks hard like it is as hard as nails.

The only thing I could seeing going wrong there is a bad mix. But we can't tell if it's good or bad.

Looks fine to me.

The Birta Dheer Road. 8.5 KM paved(not all weather grade tho) I don't see drainage like some other parts of the highway with drainage sections. That build is equivalent to One Side of Hamar to Another.

Mogadishu Land Area Size is around 80 to 100 Sq KM. That 8 km by 8 km(length and width) or 10 km by 10 km(length by width).

If this type of project was done there it would be on SNTV and every facebook page but in PL, it's just another day among many other projects(maba loo soo bixin).

When I go to Mog I'll do a drive from one end of town to another vertically, clock the km, and then horizontally.

@FBIsomalia

Have u noticed they never publish the current and predicted growth in terms of load of vehicles(mass) and volume(quantity) per day, month, year? This will tell us what the type of material(asphalt or concrete) is better value and return on investment(last longer).

They don't even provide the levelling material used on the earth or the sub base materials above it and the strength and grade of it or the base course(which is what u see) and its material and bitumen used. The materials can only last so long under load, stress, natural elements(it's measured in thickness). Korka Bay qurux ka dhigan not the sub base or earth level.

I'll do a fire hose test on each road built and rate the flow strength(from the fire dept) and find out which material was used based on results that way because each are tested under load or natural element testing and u can quickly google why did this road base break apart at this strength of water or volume or vehicle volume and u can find out what material and grade was selected vs the prices charged to PL govt.

Somalis hate evidence based approaches and accountability and isla hisabtan. Their probably charging premium prices and delivering low grade material. Their xasid in Somalia they don't want to do a job well done because they want it to break apart(repeat business).
