But there's no doubt we originate from Southern Ethiopia/Northern Kenya. That is the geographical area where the closest relatives to somalis, the Borana and the Rendille also originate.

Because Macro-Somali and all it's linguistic relatives originate in Southern Ethiopia, around Lakes Abaya and Chamo.

It is a fallacy to say environment changes... a good example is the Arabian peninsula how comes it has never changed. The gulf countries have been the same for thousands of years. Why didn't Saudi Arabia for instance change from desert to tropical forest area?
Arabian peninsula also changed from green area in the past to desert and will return back green in the future.
