This is possibly the stupidest argument I've seen.
Just because Qabils are part of our identity and culture doesn't mean that we shouldn't rid ourselves of it. They are the reason we had civil war which killed hundreds of thousands, possibly over a million Somalis directly or indirectly, They are the reason today that Somalia is one of the poorest, least developed countries on earth. We are poorer now then the English were in the 1600's.
If keeping true to our identity and culture means that we continue to be poor and underdeveloped then there is no reason for us to fight for our backwards identity. Female gentile mutilation is also part of our identity as Somalis we've done it for thousands of years does that mean we should continue to do it - of course not.
Just cause something is part of our identity , doesn't mean that it is right.
