Founder effect. A group of men of European descent came to that region and mated with the women. The sons mated with the women. Their sons mated with the women. And so on and so on and so on. Just because you have a haplogroup, doesn't mean you are like the majority of that haplogroup. Your looks come from your parents, so the first generation would be mixed, but keep the y-dna of the father. The second would be a quarter white, but keep the y-dna of the father. The third would be a sixteenth white, but keep the father. As you can understand, you'll lose most of the whiteness at that point.

OK, that makes sense. So people like the Toubou Gouran, are they of the same extraction as other Afro-Asiatics like Somalis and Berbers (genetically)? Or were the Chadic languages adopted by them (presuming they are from an Indo-European migration).

Toubous have more Afro-Asiatic autosomal ancestry (in the 25% to 35% range) but they speak a Nilo-Saharan language.

Chadics speaks Afro-Asiatic, but have less AA related ancestry than the more northerly Toubous.

Language =/= Ancestry. Only a useful guide sometimes.

You do know languages don't have to correlate with haplogroups exactly. The Natufians most likely had a mix of Y haplogroups E1b1b, J1/2 and T-M70.

But you're probably right about the Chadic people. R1b is far too random.

From my understanding R1b has been in Europe for a very long time. It is R1a that is directly connected to Indo-European invasion from Eurasian steppes. Supposedly R1b and I had blue eyes and blond hair, and the E1b1b had olive complexion with brown eyes and dark hair, and then R1as came from Asia and introduced red hair and green eyes.
