Most of Somalia is empty, entitely desert. Wont be hard too find a spot and transform it.

There is no land that isn't under the jurisdiction of a clan, it may look 'empty' on google maps, but dad baa ku tashada.

I think rotating capitals between FMS is too capital intensive considering the infrastructure that needs to be built in each one. I support the South African model, Xamar can host the executive and all of the foreign embassies in the country, Hargeisa could be the parliamentary capital, and Garowe could have the Somali Supreme Court. This way Banaadir can also become a FMS because no other major city will agree to have the same terrible arrangement Banaadir currently had with the FGS.

Somalia needs a new capital from scratch. The country is the size of Texas, flat and it is empty. Somewhere central. Perhaps close to Hobyo port. Xamar is not acceptable. Too much tragic history, civil war and of course we know of the chants they made against Farmaajo that it is their city and they will blow it up if he doesn't leave.

I think xamar can work, but it has to basically become a brussels to EU type of city, where it’s ruled by only the FGS. Let them sort out everything in xamar and leave everyone else to their own devices.

It can still be the “official” government and do world tours but doesn’t exert any influence outside of the city.

We remember the taunts and chants they made against Farmaajo. That it is their city. Sorrt but Xamar is not my capital.

Then it’s empty land, which if a gov was here would take over. Not a single functioning country on earth would that be A hassle and sooner or later that time will come for Somalia.

It still won't remove the thread of clan ethnic cleansing. Mogadishu was selected in the past, and most of us are typing from the diaspora today, thanks to what happened.

It’s been 34 years as somebody who been back home it’s not a biggie the people who aint been able too move on are in the diaspora people back home are more stressed about 0 opportunities in that shit hole than what happend 30+ yrs ago.

hard disagree. Only reason there is an ”trust issue” is because not a single honest politician has risen up, genuinely believe if one came up they would be able too get the support of the youth who are tired. Btw this ”trust issue” also criple down on sub sub sub sub clans so maybe it’s better resolving it.

there is no universe where a rotating capital city is happening and i dont think the current mogadishu is fit too be a capital city because majority of somalis only claim their own tuulos, so a new place where all somalis can come invest instead of going to EASTLEIGH for that.
