Think about it, somalia went into civil war for decades the northwestern region stabilized and declared independence while the central & southern regions were still unstable. The IC did not give recognition to SL for decades. SL is given permission to the status quo to remain stable. Just long enough for a stable Somali government to appear. Now Somalia has a government the case for independence is closed. Just developed your region instead.
