Religious lineages in somaliweyn

I believe there was religious clans responsible for rain prayers, blessings, etc, before Islam amongst Somalis and some other East Cushitics. Yibir were a religious clan before Islam spread.

Even the term Wadaad is pre Islamic Wad(death) Aad(goes towards death or has an abundance knowledge about the afterlife).

Ps. Fiqishini are a sheikh clan who settled with Dhulbahante.
I’m aware of fiqishini are they the only religious clan in waqooyi ? this wadaad and waraanle culture seems to be more of a galbeed and koonfur culture

No Wadaad clan join the tribe, in contrast to the Ogaden our teachers were always homegrown and taught their own subclan members. Sheikhal have always been counted as Martiile Hiraab which has numerous subsub clans besides Sheikhal, like Abdirahim Martiile. It is due to ignorance and propaganda that has seen myths arise. There's a whole Loboge guy on the forum who matched the Hiraab clade which prove the oral tales were real. It remains to be seen what other Sheikhal subclans pair up or have their own clade but it is believed Loboge was buried in the North with his siblings. Majority of other Hawiye subclans have religious sublineages among them. Murursade have Israfil Hasanleey fiqis. HG have Abdale Sacad who are fuqaha and the ancestor of that tribe is buried in Xamar Boondheere, Fiqishini Ayaanle Ayr was sent to the North. Abgaal have numerous sublineages among them who produce their scholars, mainly Celi Cumar. The Galjecel have Reer Sheikh Barsane who were their scholars. If you know Hassan Barsane, his 5th grandfather were all teachers like him. XL have shanta culumo which is a similar structure to Ogaden where foreign clans settle with them as teachers. Ajuran also have a subclan called Aala Sheikh. The Jajeele subclan who carry out religious duties are called Faqi Yacquub.

Sheekhaal is a title, only sheekhaal looboge, sheekhaal adeer and sheekhaal martiile are from Martiile hiiraab, sheekhaal adeer being descendants of adeer of looboge and sheekhaal martiile being descendants of adeer of adeer of looboge.

Sheekhaal looboge claim their progenitor Sacdi daud, great great great grandfather of Aw Axmed Looboge, is buried in a town near Afgooye .

There's a sheekhaal cabdi sheekh ( who are Maxamed Mudulood) that has e-m293 haplogroup on 23andme

Only some Arabs in the Banadir and Harar coast and a few Somalis who studied abroad, were considered sheikhs
As for those Sufis they had nothing to do with religion. Rather religion was like trade to them.

I'm talking about the clans that you call religious. It was always the small clans that became religious because in Somali culture they did not raid the sheikhs. It was taboo
Religiosity protected them, otherwise they would have been killed and extinct
There are few Somali sheikhs. But it is impossible to compare them with those in the Banadir and Harar
Read some of their books and you'll know what I mean

Your right harar and banadir were the centres of Islamic learning in the Horn of Africa it’s unfair to compare them to other regions

Page from Richard burtons book describing how religious lineages get adopted into major clans

Their oral history is enough to disprove it even without DNA, also the oral history of two other clans sheekhaal adeer and sheekhaal martiile both back it up, I doubt Richard Burton interacted with them even
Richard burton is more familiar with northern and galbeed clans he relies heavily on third party information when it comes to the south

War is coming.
What haplogroups do these “Religious” lineages carry? I know the Sheekhaal Aw Qudub are E-M183 (Berber/NW African)

Sheikhaal loobaage aka “Martiile Hiiraab” got the Hiiraab sub clade. Not sure about the other Sheikhaal. There is an Arussi Oromo from Bale who claims ashraaf lineage that ordered big Y. On 23&me he got E-V32
