This was discussed before, most likely someone who was from an affluent family. The study suggests he didn't grow up in the Roman empire due to his dietary habits during early childhood.

I personally would rule out him being a slave or solider, he was either a merchant or a rich foreigner just traveling through the empire. He was buried with luxurious artifacts.
