the world is not two sided. he should support the weakening of russia to keep them at bay in the black sea. for turkey both the west and russia and adversaries. but nato provides defensive support against russia a historical enemy.

Beneficial to? The biggest enemy of Africans are Africans. Some countries hold land belonging to others, and interfere in local affairs. Any type of integration would exacerbate this. Furthermore, a stronger 'Africa' means nothing to Somalia. A pan-african identity is a postcolonial identity that Somalis, and many others, don't care about. And rightly so.

That might work, but the horn has land disputes which renders this impossible any time soon.

what economic integration with somalia? bantus have more human resources more agriculture and better land. security is out of the window. a future strong somali state would invade kenya or ethiopia. somalia has no benefit from sub saharan africa apart from eritrea and sudan. the biggest somali enemies are kenya and ethiopia and the african union. the arab league is nowhere near as destructive as the african union with thousands of troops. arabs never invaded somalia or tried to colonize it. after 1991 arab league and arab countries give scholarships to sudan egypt syria.
