Russia-Ukraine War

They’re trapping Crimea, right now the Ukrainian military are approx 150km from the Crimean border.

By hitting this bridge, they leave the Russians no route of escape if they face Ukrainian invasion. Similar to Dunkirk, they will have to use boats and a relief effort to get their people out.

This is because if (and it’s a big IF) Ukraine reaches Crimea, they will come in from Kherson which is the only land route out of Crimea. This bridge connects to the Russian mainland but now that is destroyed, Kherson and Melitipol become more important to hold.

You are an ill-informed Yankee arsekisser, I'll see what you have to say in the coming days and weeks. This war is unfortunately not over yet

As for ill-informed, I specialised in policy for years esp in security policy. I read academic journals and policy papers weekly to keep up to date in my field.

As for my political beliefs, I hate America, inshallah their imperialism declines ameen. It’s a country that cannot take care of their citizens let alone follow basic rules of human rights abroad.

But I would 100000% take America in a European conflict than Russia. In almost every European conflict, the US has always been the good guy.

History is always right.

Man they messed that bridge up. Entire spans are gone lol.

The good news is the substructure is has superficial damage. The spans will need to be replaced which can be done without too much difficulty.

The rail bridge looks like it has superficial fire damage.
