This operation won't be like America's scorch earth policy in Fallujah or Vietnam. Russia wont carpet bomb cities nor attack civilians directly. They have kept the electrical, internet and transportation grid largely intact. Of course it will be slower than a blitzkrieg.

Putin is treating them as his own citizens remember he was part of USSR and Ukraine was simply part of Russia lol. I think he will just install a pro Russian administration and leave only a small number of troops behind. With Ukraine secured I highly doubt he will expand further.
