Rwanda is one of the wests favorite African countries. They're always pushed as the model for development in the continent. I really don't think they will face any huge repercussions for Congo. Pretty sure Kagame is aware of this as well. They've been meddling in eastern Congo for a long time at this point.I don’t see Rwanda becoming the new Nairobi. It’s landlocked, and the situation with Congo could risk turning Rwanda into a pariah state. Somalis should focus on investing in themselves or at the at least in Mogadishu. As the wealth in Somalia continues to build it will eventually spread out to other regions.

I’ve been there like 3 times, it’s a service based country, it takes like 4 days to open any business but it has a small population with little spending powerKigali will be the next eastern hub like Nairobi. Somalis should think about investing there as well.

Why have Rwanda and Belgium cut diplomatic ties? – DW – 03/18/2025
Belgium has successfully pushed the EU to impose sanctions on its former colony, Rwanda, over its military involvement in DR Congo. Rwanda has not taken the decision lightly.www.dw.com
Yes, I remember years ago seeing a video of Kagame scolding his government for how long the bureaucratic the process was to register a business. Now the whole process is online and quick. Even shorter than 4 days.I’ve been there like 3 times, it’s a service based country, it takes like 4 days to open any business but it has a small population with little spending power
Mogadishu ain't safe, too risky. The future for xamar looks grim as Shabaab relentlessly expands in next door regions. If your business is mid sized or large you'll be visited by them and forced to pay protection tax to them. No means your business will be bombed. The government that can't protect you will also demand taxes.I don’t see Rwanda becoming the new Nairobi. It’s landlocked, and the situation with Congo could risk turning Rwanda into a pariah state.
