Should "Nursing" Be Included In The STEM/STEAM Field?

I personally believe it does not fall under STEM because nurses learn how to treat patients with medications but they do not focus on the science behind the specific illness they are treating. In order for nurses to be under the STEM category, I'd say they need to do research or prolong their studies to a Doctorate Level so that they can research the disease or that particular illness.

Still, they are focusing on a generalized idea on the Science of the illness. So by definition, it should be seen as STEM.

Technically they do not fall under STEM. Even if they did they would not fit in any category. Even if they focusing on the generalised idea on the science of the illness, that's not their job to look at the science as that is more for researchers and lab scientist. I personally think they should not fall under the STEM category.

Medicine and Dentistry are science based subjects so they do fall under STEM. Yeah same nursing should not fall under the category STEM for any reason.
