Should Somalia’s second language be English instead of Arabic?

The Somali government should only conduct it’s affairs in Somali, we are all Somalis and why will they need a second language? Why can’t Somalis chose what other language they want to study in schools like in the western world? Schools should be allowed (with an extra cost of a school fee) to teach different languages as a subject called a LOTS (Languages other than Somali) like English, French, Hindu, Mandarin, Malay/Bahasa, Arabic, Swahili, Amharic and etc. Having said that, we barely have properly functioning public schools. But, the official government language should only be Somali.

Arabic, as we a re very very close to them. Alsp, we a part of the Arab league, which makes arabic a diplomatic language. However, for the individual they have a choice, we shouldn't force anyone.

How much can we even profit from the diaspora? A couple of million? A generous couple of tens of millions? That's not enough to sustain an economy, akhi, even with a country as poor as Somalia. dosent need to be revolutionary, just needs demand from our diaspora outposts like say Minnesota and front their expand out to the mainstream of America, once mainstream in America a billion dollars is guaranteed as all mainstream American business are atleast in the billion dollar range, intact household names like apple have now passed the trillion dollar threshold so a billion is seen as pennies of an American household corporation

No. By having Arabic as our second language we still remain in the Arab League and are able to reap the benefits of the organization. What do we gain by making English our second language?

There are more Somalis in Ethiopia than in Kenya. 6.5 million in Ethiopia and 3 million in Kenya. But since K5'er are generally less educated ..not sure if Amharic is more common than Swahili. Anyhow, both foreign languages.
