Should Western mainstream media be right wing or left wing?

Rock encourages drug abuse, violent sex, satanism, rebellion, alcoholism and it is completely trash music that has no soul.

Rap is also trash.

Whites make songs lime blurred lines that encourage rape, imagine if a made that song, the peckerwoods would go crazy

That's hard core rock and it isn't as popular as rap music or popular rock/country. Robin Thicke's song was banned in some venues and there were two black guys in that song singing the same lyrics and one says he'd tear her ass in two. Also rap does have rape lyrics even mentions date rape, male rape and even raping another rappers mother.

because rap isnt about smoking weed and having fun right? u guys realize gangsta rap is just a small subset of hip hop right? plz dont buy into media stereotypes of what hip hop is

also have u ever listened to heavy metal? lol @ white music being all sunshine and flowers. let me know when there are hip hop nazi and necrophiliac acts

Necrophilia check!

I might have it wrong I don't really listen to music much but popular black music is darker than popular white music.

I'm more if a centrist but I think hard core rap and rock are harmful but because the black community is smaller it needs a more diverse music range to have the balance/choice of lifestyles white people have with their music.

the lyrics to one of the most popular death metal songs
There's something inside me
It's, it's coming out, I feel like killing you
Let loose the anger, held back too long
My blood runs cold

Through my anatomy, dwells another being
Rooted in my cortex, a servant to its bidding
Brutality now becomes my appetite
Violence is now a way of life

The sledge my tool to torture
As it pounds down on your forehead
Eyes bulging from their sockets
With every swing of my mallet

I smash your fucking head in, until brains seep in
Through the cracks, blood does leak
Distorted beauty, catastrophe
Steaming slop, splattered all over me
Lifeless body, slouching dead Lecherous abscess
Where you once had a head

Avoiding the prophecy of my new found lust
You will never live again, soon your life will end
I'll see you die at my feet, eternally I smash your face
facial bones collapse as I crack your skull in half

Crushing, cranial, contents
Draining the snot, I rip out the eyes
Squeezing them in my hands nerves are incised
Peeling the flesh off the bottom of my weapon

Involuntarily pulpifying facial regions
Suffer, and then you die Torture, pulverized
At one with my sixth sense, I feel free
To kill as I please, no one can stop me
Created to kill, the carnage continues

Violently reshaping human facial tissue
Brutality becomes my appetite
Violence is now a way of life
The sledge my tool to torture
As it pounds down on your forehead

what? ready to die was some real shit, a poignant depiction of someone fed up with all the bullshit in their life and ready to end it all. this is like some 10 year old after watching his first horror movie. idk how u can have the same reaction to both lyrics

You're thinking of suicidal thoughts. Ready to Die was about how much of a gangster he was and how easily he'd end a life even if it threatened his own life.

true yeah i did confuse them  . ready to die is still pretty thought provoking tho cuz it's not like he was depicting some fantasy. this was real life, and the main sentiment was that he's ready to move on from that now that he's successful. not a glorification at all. whereas there's no context in metal, it's just straight up fantastical bs

Yeah if you're into rap you get the subtleties immediately. The metal stuff just sounds gay to me though because I watch and read a lot of horror. I think it only appeals to people on hard drugs or people who are a bit mental and think about that stuff already. I don't like it at all and if I had choice between sharing a cab with a hard core rock fan or a gangster rap fan I wouldn't hesitate to choose the weedhead rap fan.

the appeal is mostly the same as those 80's slasher films, like intentionally cheesy and over the top. i personally dig it. it's nothing serious tho as it's all fantasy, but there are people who aren't that discerning but at the same time have this double standard towards hip hop lyrics

But slasher culture hasn't quite taken off like rap culture lol Only weirdos idolise serial killers and emulate them even on a superficial level whereas we can't say that about gangster rap. Gangster rap is selling a criminal lifestyle to the masses and it only really sells if you've been a gangster before. There isn't that requirement with hard core rock.

honestly gangsta rap died in popularity long ago. the days of g-unit and the likes being top dog are long gone. think of the most popular hip hop artists today, they're either pseudo-concsious dudes like kendrick and j cole or rap about sipping lean and having sex

i'd say drill music which u can say is the gangsta rap of today is comparable in popularity to the more popular metal acts
