Why does every person yes even men are doing this, from East Africa say they're from East Africa rather than saying they're from the continent of Africa? Do you tell people you're from East Africa or just Africa.



I pretty much say I'm from the Horn of Africa.

I never even say I'm from Africa, never mind East Africa, I just say I'm Somali.
People tend to ask what country you're from, rather than what continent, because 9.9 out of 10, you can tell at least what continent someone is from. I have had south east asians start speaking to me in their languages though.
