How come everytime I see pics of African immigrants in America, they live in suburban areas and big houses with nice whips parked on the driveway? And then I see Somalis and they're always in the ghetto/projects.

At least in the UK houses are expensive, and small, and everyone either lives in council houses or rents privately. We have also been infiltrated by salafi losers who scream about riba and mortgages. But even here Somalis have been surpassed in home ownership by South Asians and Arabs.

All my family members live in houses including us I don't know these people are probably taken by the un so they are provided houses by the government

Nigerians are on another level, I'm not comparing us to them. They are the elite in their countries. But even refs from xabashia and the Middle-east are getting on the property ladder.

They shouldn't do that it breeds laziness and dependence back home, be selfish and only send for food when they are in dire need, not to fund for their rents, marriage etc. My father wants to go back home to Somalia but I plan to stay here and get on the property ladder, haven't decided where I would like to live yet, I would like to do some traveling just to examine where would be best.

Yes,I will generalize because the OP was talking about the general us Somali population,not the rare few that were here for a long time. Most Somali Americans were in America for less than 25yrs. You can't expect a group of people to blossom in such a short time. It takes a generation at least to see results,not a quarter of a generation.

My friend that went to America says their balling in the US, socialist system made most Somalis depended on the state in the other countries, which is a dream for Fobs but getting a degree in Europe and then barely making more than someone who is on welfare when you start working sucks ass.

It depends, if you live in the UK I agree. But in Scandinavia, they have pretty high living standards.

somalis in america need to stop avoiding tax payments and simply indicate when they're married so they're not way at the bottom of the list as far as annual income in concerned.

they're easily the most employed group overall and have multiple businesses. while i won't say they're living lavishly they're definitely not poor.

There are many who live in the 'projects ' and shady neighborhoods, but there are also middle-class families and well-to-do folks. I actually have the impression that Somalis in the US are working their salt and less likely to be dependent on the state than their Euro counterparts. But you're comparing apples to oranges by likening African economic migrants to an ethnic group largely comprised of refugees, which there's been a steady stream of btw, so that any strides gained by families that have pulled themselves by their bootstraps is replenished by a new set of straight-up fobs who left Africa yesteryear, and are starting at the bottom.

Living in houses is nothing special, it's common af, but most ppl rent. There are a handful of families that own property where I am, but most are apprehensive about taking out loans on interest so they rent all their lives.
