Ethiopia wanted Somali lands long before Turkey and these other nations became involved in the Horn. Our interests overlap; we need them to deter an existential, expansionist enemy. Likewise, Ethiopia are doing the same thing. They need a sea outlet; gaining military support from outsiders helps them achieve this. It's a quid pro quo arrangement, let's not act like Horners are idiots with no agency who don't know what their interests are.
