Men are expected to protect and sacrifice their life for their family and their dignity. If he doesn’t fight back now then he’ll struggle a lot when he gets older. Even if there are other factors at play, you can’t disregard the importance of learning how to defend yourself.

The school has failed in the safeguarding aspect. But again, its a London School, what can I expect. They only do shit when it goes online or people get severely injured. But this notation that the teachers are racist and everybody is ganging up on me has no weight in front of a governors body/complaining body. Evidence is the way to go. The sister has done well, removing his exclusion and got a statement from the school, but online has a lifelong effect for her brother. And it wouldn't take long before people know who he is.

I know. The whole thing is a shit show. But the sad reality is that many schools only rectify their behavior through online embarrassment and backlash. Because of this she has been able to get the attention of the local MP. Would she have been able to do that without having to blast everything online? I wish we had a strong community with links Somali hooyos can turn to.

His family needs to be more proactive instead of relying on cadaans for justice. Take him to boxing/MMA classes. Better yet why not start looking for other schools in the area? Why are we pretending like kids being forced to get involved in MMA is the norm? Of course, some proactive measures would have possibly prevented this, but this kid's mother isn't guilty of doing anything that any of the other mothers aren't.

The school needs to be held accountable. Too many people here are jumping to to why doesn't he do self defence ect. That is very important imo and as someone who has been in martial arts for a long time I encourage it. However, the school needs to be scrutinised for condoning this behaviour and punishing the victim.

Somalis need to take these things to higher levels. Contact the local authorities, local Mps, councillors ect. The school has a governing board. Head teachers are accountable to several people, email them consistently, things can get done.

She managed to get the local MP involved and shamed the hell out of the school and teachers. The school twitter accounts had to go private due to severe backlash. I'm telling you, by the looks of it, the school board, local MPs and authorities are going to be all over this.

I think you're not seeing the big picture. Whilst its important to teach self defense, holding schools accountable is vital. Imagine if he wasn't getting bullied, but fighting those cadan kids because they were trying shit with him first, but the school kept on punishing him because he's a Somali kid? Please explain how only self defense will help?

My whole point is, why are we so blasé about our young boys and girls being targeted by racist staff? I've seen and heard of Somali boys constantly getting in trouble for shit when they're not even the main culprits, whilst other kids walk around freely. This happens because they know they will recieve any backlash. All they see on parents evenings are Somali hoyoos who can't speak proper English with no husband around. His family need to send him to self-defense classes and to the gym, also, where is his father in all of this? I guarantee you, his mother and sister are the type to baby, coddle and feed him unhealthily, and they wonder why the kid is soft and getting bullied.

Another reason why 2 parent households and being actively involved with your kids are so important, it would prevent stuff like this from happening.
