The somali and south asian community are close and interact with each other more. Also the south asian community is the highest non white migrant group in the uk. Can’t blame somalis to adopt some mannerism and ideas from them.

Ask any UK Somali here i bet they have more desi friends then black friends on average

They are only close in the diaspora, we only share Islam with them and nothing else, this people will throw you under the bus.

Yeah Im from reer Scandinavia and can conform its associated with us, I remember my high school teacher multiple times explained the practices of FGM infort of my class and looked straight at me before saying its really common in the Horn of Africa i.e. Somalia. He wasn't bad teacher or racist but actually the opposite and he would always give me the highest grades however he would always mention FGM and the complications some women got from it etc and at that time I was just clueless and didn't know anything. It really shameful to hear that our people practices such things and even more disheartening to hear the stories. I believe it's something that our older generation practices and is now gradually decrease.

We cannot know for certain what she been through and from what ive read she had really tough upbringing definitely not what a normal somali would had. However we do know that some of these things happen and its sad and should be highlighted however her ways of doing that can be better instead of trauma dumping on some reality show.

Yeah shes fine now. They have weird beliefs. Im just glad my mom and dad didnt do it to us.🙏🏾were the first generation tht didnt have it done in our fam.
