I used to blame Somali men aswell and then realised it’s not the men it’s the women. I’ve witnessed mothers telling their daughters to bleach before weddings. Also witnessed a mother buying her daughter bleach before her wedding day because she was “too dark” .

For me, when I see a dark skinned Somali woman or man, I usually think they’re attractive when they have a nice thin frame (or a healthy body in general but something) and nice Somali features. Notice how most of us have big foreheads but most of us aren’t ugly because it goes with our look... When I see an Arab woman I don’t say ohh she’s pretty because she’s light skinned...I look at her eyes because beautiful Arabs typically have “gazelle eyes” as they mention is songs. Every culture has different standards of beauty that has nothing to do with skin colour so idk what this girl is going on about. There are white people who look messed up and their skin tone can’t help them with that. The girl who responded looks so beautiful and healthy in my opinion.

Dark skin is hyper masculinized while light skin is hyper feminized. That’s why women prefer darker men and men like light women.
