Somali girl vs colourist xalimo

Wallahi it’s always about the lightSkins vs darkskins bs, where’s the love for the brown skins 😭, way more beautiful.
Lol I thought we only had 3 skin-tones: madow, mariin, and casaan. Most common is the mariin which most of us fall under(and yes I had to ask an elderly to confirm this so you know it’s true lol). Which is why no one praises it cuz it’s the most common 😂😂

I used to blame Somali men aswell and then realised it’s not the men it’s the women. I’ve witnessed mothers telling their daughters to bleach before weddings. Also witnessed a mother buying her daughter bleach before her wedding day because she was “too dark” .
Not all Somali mothers not even half of them. It’s the vapid more shallow types. I don’t think I ever heard a Somali mother encourage skin bleaching to their daughters that’s more an Asian and Indian thing.

Oh sorry I forgot to add not all of them. We aren’t as bad as Asians they are defo worse

Xalimos always push us under the bus ,
Bleaching isn't even a big thing in Somalia of we compare to other madow countries. You'll never catch a Nigerian (the most bleach consuming country) accusing their men of being the reason they bleach

We innocent somali men are tired of the slander 😪

Lmaooo somali men deserve the slander!!!!!!! But tbh as a dark skin Somali women growing was weird. I never fit in any box. Am on the very dark side of the spectrum with reddish undertone. I have timo jileec and very Somali features. I even feel into internalizing this whole light skin vs dark skin but never really saw it in our community. I would watch my mother and habos moving in life with confidence and thinking they are better than everyone else lmaoo. We never put anyone else above us like the white or arab. Everyone got the same smoke. Soo it was weird because what I have seen in my life and read online doesn’t match at times. Maybe it’s due to my anecdotal experience. Also, I remember one time I went to a work bbq party at my manager house and I went into the jacuzzi. I took my hijab with swiftness because it was all women. I didn’t think to much about my hair and just chilled and ate. The next day at work everyone was saying how I had beautiful hair lmaoo like they never saw a black person with my hair. Also growing up I was never called ugly but people did tell me I was beautiful for a dark skin girl even this light Somali girl said that to me 🤣 but i will defend the Somali men on this one ( I can’t speak for back home) they are more about feature and hair.
