Arabs call these types all the day, they were dragging their names since 2023, at least in Arab Fb twitter .
Nobody cares about fb when most young activist types are on twitter. Find me one recent tweet dragging an arab or muslim asian working for one of these companies. Arabs & asians post generic tweets like “how can you be muslim & work here”. I don’t see them posting people’s linkedin accounts because they’re smart enough to understand that attacking people from their own ethnic group is stupid which is why they just rt attention starved losers like Libaan to divert attention away from their own. Btw the guy in question was literally helping younger Somalis at tech events. He’s not a bum making jokes on twitter, he was helping dadkiisa & in return he gets Somalis trying to embarrass him

Banks directly profit from bombing children? Lockheed has sold Hellfire missile which blades attacked to rocket that slices civilians children included

it’s crazy that they’re doing anything to defend this guy, from saying paying taxes is the same as working at a company which makes weapons which are directly used to kill people, to saying that there’s Arabs and south Asians working there as well ( literally ultimate whataboutism). The funny this is most the people who are saying this are only backing him up because of somalinimo, Has America not sent bombs over to somalia?

None of these people have morals and would instantly take a chance to get money even if it’s through morally dubious means. That being said I think the level of hate he’s getting is too much, on top of having his face plastered everywhere, I just don’t know how people are defending him, and the comments that are defending him always get mass support, while you’ll be qashined for pointing out how nasty working a job like that is, some of the things that are widely believed and repeated on this forum are so stupid to me, but I don’t even wanna argue against it anymore, everyones entitled to their own opinion, and I don’t wanna go out of my way to change it.

also that video is so sad, poor guy.

It is about having a moral compass. And on the whataboutism, the ones who pulled the employees with Muslim names started with non Somalis, the guy came letter one.

That isn’t true. The original tweet was made by a Somali guy who posted a screenshot of his linkedin account and allowed people to attack him. Before that people were shaming others by posting tweets like “if you work at X company you should feel ashamed” or making jokes about muslims in tech being evil. Nobody was posting linkedin profiles before that.

Don’t burst his bubble he wants to feel morally superior 😂

His workplace contributes to a lot of evil & it is morally wrong to work there but this isn’t the time to discuss it imo. Like I can’t see this guy getting hate purely because he’s Somali (the original thread about him had a tj calling him a “fucking abdi”) and type up a paragraph about how we should be rational and he kinda deserves it for working at such an evil place like no, this is the time to defend him.

Maybe I’m reading into it too much but a lot of it is just racism like the abdi comment, the quotes from the original tweet about him were disgusting & a lot of ajanabis were using that moment to offload their anger onto us. My point about arabs & asians isn’t some whiny, childish comment like “how come they do it and get no hate but we do”. It’s about the fact that they’re smart enough to protect their own. They know that working at these companies is wrong but they also won’t allow strangers to racially abuse their own so they don’t go around screenshotting linkedin profiles. They justify it by telling themselves they can use the money they make working there to donate to charities or whatever. They assume the best about their own so I don’t understand why Somalis can’t do the same.

Users on here will cry about racism but don’t understand that they’re contributing to it by making people feel comfortable attacking random Somalis like this man. People don’t screenshot random arab or asian linkedin profiles and expect arabs or asians to prostrate and apologize in the comments. Only Somalis are held to a higher standard than others whether it’s this guy or ajanabis shaming someone like Chunkz or Halima Aden for breathing even tho many of their own influencers are involved in shady practices. Also like I said, a lot of the comments made about the man on twitter are just racist; it’s not just that he’s a muslim working at an unethical company, it’s that he’s Somali.

Half the comments about him on x are essentially like “how dare a Somali get to work here” like when it’s arabs or asians people call them greedy or sellouts but they only pull out racial slurs for us. They’re mad that someone they view as beneath them, someone from a war torn nation that they look down on, gets to work there and participate in this. There’s def an extra venom that comes out when people see those of african descent working for morally dubious corporations, you’re held to a standard that other minorities aren’t held to & a lot of is it just racism like why is this person who is beneath X group getting to hurt them (if that makes sense idk I can’t type sometimes). Like when Ukrainians get extra angry about central asian soldiers fighting for Russia even tho those asians are Russian citizens, we all know what they’re implying. I really don’t know how people can’t see the racist intent behind the comments about him.

The unfortunate reality is that countries will continue to bomb Somalia (altho correct me if I’m wrong didn’t the gov literally ask for help?) and other poor nations unless something short of a miracle happens. Also, if you live in the west your taxes and the places you purchase from all give money to companies like Lockheed. I’ve met people who genuinely only purchase from places that would pass any ethics test & I would 100% accept criticism from them. Like if ethics and morals are genuinely important to you then it’s possible to live a lifestyle were you only support companies that don’t participate in slave labor or give money to evil corporations. Most people aren’t like that tho and a starbucks boycott is the best they can do.

My point is, now is not the time to criticize him.

Thank you for saying working there is wrong, I misinterpreted your original comment as in defense of him, because other people have made your same point to defend him, my bad, but what I said still stands towards everyone, especially on that other thread. also I think you view a lot of things through an ethnic leans, why should we protect someone just because their Somali? if I see a Somali doing something wrong I’ll call them out, ironically I think it’s people like you who hyperfocus on these things are the problem, but I still get your point, & agree with some of the things you said. You’re one of the more respectful users on this discourse, unlike the ones straight up saying they don’t care.

No, you were correct. I was defending him. The other posters have a right to think what they think and honestly, I can’t pretend I care about Palestine or any other social issue. Do I think what’s happening there is wrong? Yeah, but not to the point that I care or will be upset at a Somali person who works for an Israeli company or something. Sorry if you disagree but I just don’t have in me to care.

I’m focusing on this through an ethnic lens because that’s what this is about. It’s not nice but race & ethnicity are at the forefront of everything. If this guy was a muslim of any other ethnicity, he wouldn’t be getting as much hate. There’s nothing wrong with noticing that people are more likely to hold certain groups to a higher moral standard and will feel comfortable attacking them in a way they wouldn’t do with others. This man is the poster boy of muslims who work for unethical companies now despite the fact that there are barely any Somalis working there.

My point is that we are a minority within a minority but manage to become the face of stuff of like this. The average Somali supports Palestine and goes to protests; there have been many Somalis who were fired for their pro-Palestine views or receive hate for their views (for example, Ilhan Omar, she even got racist comments from the same Palestinians she was supporting, they weren’t diaspora either but Palestinians in Palestine). I’m not seeing twitter posts about any of that; when we do something positive or try & raise awareness/help others nobody cares but when one of us makes a mistake everyone focuses on us & we’re all expected to take the blame because of another Somali person’s mistakes.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that Somalis end up being the poster child for every negative thing? Whether it’s muslims who work for unethical companies or muslims who mock the hijab/are immodest or muslim criminals? Despite the fact that the average Somali thinks that working at a bank is a sin and wouldn’t even ever think of working at a defense company, wears hijab/dresses modest and would never comment on the crazy crimes other muslims commit and would instead make excuses for them. It’s exhausting seeing Somalis be rational & nuanced when it comes to others when people do not give us that same grace back.

If a Somali person commits a crime, I’m not going to defend them but if I see people attacking them purely because they’re Somali then yes I’ll comment on it. There’s a difference between people calling someone out because they think what they’re doing is wrong and calling them out because they want to justify their racism behind an sjw lens which is what’s happening with this man. If someone posted screenshots of linkedin pages of different muslims working for these kinda companies and he was included I wouldn’t care because it’s obvious that they’re attacking everyone and aren’t focusing on a singular person. But this man has been hated on since the original tweet in 2023.

It’s small things like this that normalize racism. People think we’re all collectively responsible for the actions of other Somalis which is why I made it about his ethnicity. We live in a world were people will always hyper focus on your racial background. It isn’t nice but it’s the world we live in. You can be a morally decent person and not focus on race or ethnicity but that won’t stop others from doing so. We have to pushback against stuff like this because it’s just weird asf posting someone’s info like this in the first place but it also normalizes people targeting random Somalis. They notice there’s no pushback so they feel comfortable going after us. This is why ajanabis feel confident asking people about qabil or SL vs Somalia or other weird comments. People are very overfamiliar with us and it’s wrong. I don’t blame ajanabis for this, I blame the Somalis like Libaan and all the others who justify it by saying “oh they’re a bad person for doing X so who cares if ajanabis attack them”.

Lol, @ people above complaining about moral superiority while getting wet over the idea of a man they share no relation with, except ethnicity, making a lot of money. Wallahi, a bunch of cuckolds in our community, this man will never know you or be glad he's defending you.

Do you know what a cuckold is you freak? You’re the same guy calling other Somalis all sorts of names over made up qabils but then getting mad when people comment on oromos or minorities in Somalia or palestinians. Typical salafi retard, turning into a one ummah nationalist when people comment on ajanabis but still finding the time to do fkd against your fellow Somalis

There are a lot of us somalis who applied to companies working in military and naval systems. I personally applied and got accepted to BAE systems degree apprenticeship [UK equivalent of Lockheed Martin] but didnt go for certain reasons [dodgy contract]. He only got an internship which isnt that deep at all.

i dont know why he would make it public though. He shouldve kept it to himself. A job is a job. Everyones tryna make ends meet in this world.

He didn’t make it public some random somali guy went to linkedin, went thru the hundreds of profiles of employees who work for the company, probably went thru a lot of desi arabs and other muslims with islamic names, found a somali guy and doxxed him on twitter.

After typing this do you see how insane that sounds?

He was invited by "SomalisInTech" prior to the war, to speak about his career and offer guidance to students. When the war started, someone who attended the webinar went back and checked if he was still working at the company and posted it on twitter. Extremely nasty behaviour.

Thats absolutely nefarious foul play. Its really never that deep. On top of that he could be working for any number of fields in Lockheed that isnt apart of creating a weapon. For example he could be a software engineer or he could do project management

somalis need to realise we can work in whatever field we like. If we stay politically correct, we will never make it out of poverty. What man in their right mind would leave a job because a war decided to occur?

This guy is gaining serious knowledge from a top company and in the future he could very well give that knowledge back to our own people in Somalia.

The honesty is killing me lol,
I’m focusing on this through an ethnic lens because that’s what this is about. It’s not nice but race & ethnicity are at the forefront of everything. Race and ethnicity are not at the forefront of everything, I just think it is for you and a bunch of other people who I also think you hyper focus on while ignoring people who don’t view everything through race and then use those people to justifying also viewing everything through a racial lense. There is nothing wrong with noticing that certain groups are hold to a higher moral standard, that’s true, but to mention it on a post about a random guy working a morally questionable job, is very weird, especially since I’m sure the guy who posted it doesn’t hold somalis to a higher moral standard, neither do most people, and the people who were saying racist remarks weren’t saying it because they hold somalis to a higher standard but rather they already have their own opinion on us and just used that guy as a shield to justify it.
We manage to become the face of stuff like this because of Somalis themselves, That guy who posted that was out of pocket for doing so, it is his fault. I think that last sentence applies to every single ethnic group, certain people always focus on negatives and ignore positives, I think alot of the things you guys complain about on here happen with other ethnic groups. You just interact with Somalis and are mostly in Somali spaces so you don’t see it, neither do they, and they say the exact same thing, for the same reason.
Do you think it’s a coincidence that Somalis end up being the poster child for every negative thing?
it’s not, it’s Somali themselves who like to scream about these things.
. It’s exhausting seeing Somalis be rational & nuanced when it comes to others when people do not give us that same grace back.
I’ve had that “same grace” extended to me multiple times, there’s plentry of Ajanbis who give Somalis grace and are more rational, there’s plenty of nice non-Somalis out there, once again using other people’s bad behaviour to justify your own
If a Somali person commits a crime, I’m not going to defend them but if I see people attacking them purely because they’re Somali then yes I’ll comment on it. You said “Arabs and Asians are smart enough to protect their own” i Said I’m not gonna protect someone just because their Somali, I don’t know what this whole paragraph is supposed to counter.
It’s small things like this that normalize racism. People think we’re all collectively responsible for the actions of other Somalis which is why I made it about his ethnicity.
No one aside from a stupid person thinks we’re all responsible for the actions of other somalis, your wording to me is very weird, you make it sound as if most people think like that, when they don’t, social media exaggerates these kind of things, especially on twitter (where it was originally posted).
. We live in a world were people will always hyper focus on your racial background. It isn’t nice but it’s the world we live in. You can be a morally decent person and not focus on race or ethnicity but that won’t stop others from doing so. No one said don’t push back against it, and no one said it wasn’t weird to post the guys info,
This is why ajanabis feel confident asking people about qabil or SL vs Somalia or other weird comments. People are very overfamiliar with us and it’s wrong.
People do the same about a bunch of other countries to, but yeah I agree it’s wrong, but I think being overfamiliar with us is a lot more harmless than you guys make it seem.
. I don’t blame ajanabis for this, I blame the Somalis like Libaan and all the others who justify it by saying
Agreed , I’m replying as I’m reading so sorry because I mentioned this above, lol.

Ibn Hazm said in al-Muhalla:

It is not permissible to sell anything to someone who will certainly use it to disobey Allah and the transaction is null and void. For exampe, such as selling anything that may be squeezed or pressed to one who will certainly use it to make alcohol, or selling a slave to one who will certainly mistreat his slaves, or selling weapons or horses to one who will certainly use them for aggression against the Muslims, or selling silk to one (a man) who will certainly wear it, and so on with regard to all things, because Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

"Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is severe in punishment." [Quran 5:2]
