They did?Didn't some Somalis have Oromo "slaves" captured in battle.
Yes maybe her relative married one of themDidn't some Somalis have Oromo "slaves" captured in battle.
Nah Oromos dont live in harar saxiib. One of my great great great great grandparent probably married an Harar women. Also Somalis dont marry slaves. They use them as concubines. If my ancestor did marry a slave, or if truely if one of my maternal ancestor was a concubine than my family would have lost its status.Yes maybe her relative married one of them

Havent they taken over that city already dhul boobkaas baas its all cushitic waa caadi, the warrior clan HG will accept thatnah Oromos dont live in harar saxiib. Yeah they took over the cities pretty much recently. Around the middle ages they didnt live there tho, because Somalis controlled Harar during the Adal/Abyssinian war, and before that Hararis controlled their cityHavent they taken over that city already dhul boobkaas baas
Then married them later on cuz oromos were prized for their beauty. Somalis back in the day would literally invade oromo villages just to kidnap some women and marry them because they saw oromos as that beautifulDidn't some Somalis have Oromo "slaves" captured in battle.

Search it up, that 0.1% Is most likely oromo. It goes both ways tho, many oromos today have somali blood mostly arsi and hararghe but some in shewa and wollo too.I smell CAPView attachment 154092
Most Oromos have Somali blood because they were assimilated during the Great Oromo Migration. I feel like you donβt have an in-depth idea of the oromo migrations. Oromos didnβt live in harar and to this day for the most part they dont. The single largest oromo demographic in harar today is noole which is an assimilated somali tribe. During the oromo migrations not only were Somalia assimilated but the βoromosβ assimilating them where already somalis too. Large chunks of Barents oromo subclans back in the day traced to sab and some samaale and spoke somali but considered themselves ilma abba gadaa because they were adopted by the Barentu group. These βoromosβ then went on to conquer deep into oromia today in many places that have a majority Barentu oromo population. Basically simply put most oromos are all somalis so oromo and somali mixing I donβt see as an issue. Only wallaga, most of shewa and borana arenβt somali the rest I see as basically somalis and so did barre. His intention was to somalise most oromos and many were up for the idea (arsi specifically) all in all having oromo blood is nothing to be ashamed of. My uncle is part jarso. His mum says sheβs βoromoβ but in reality we all know jarso is somali. I just entertain itMost Oromos have Somali blood because they were assimilated during the Great Oromo Migration. Also Oromos didnt live in Harar in the middle ages, because Somalis controlled it.
I dont have an issue with Somali Oromo mixing, or having any oromo ancestry in me. I just said I dont have oromo because that 0.1% admixture happened in Harar, and Oromos didnt live in harar back thanBasically simply put most oromos are all somalis so oromo and somali mixing I donβt see as an issue.
Thanks for the info. Im just gonna assume your Grandparents were nomads for the sake of my argument. Did they also go broader hopping? I want to know if other Somali nomadic family's did this and not just my family.I'm from the Somali Galbeed and 100% Somali. All 4 Grandparents are Gadabuursi so I suppose that debunks the myth. Anyway, I think you ocassionally find small admixture % for some Somalis irrespective of whether they live in Somalia proper or not. Its variable from family to family. But the Ethio admixture isn't significant which denotes its not all that recent. And likely just one remote maternal ancestor in most cases.
