I really wish somebody would interview these families and record these practices and stuff. We could have an entire series of books that focus on this stuff.

Don’t worry, I’ve got you. A couple of years ago, I started documenting everything with my parents because they have so much knowledge to share. I had to pause this year because university got wayyy to hard, but I’m planning to pick it back up during my internship. I need to get back to it soon—many of them are getting older and facing health challenges, and I don’t want to lose those valuable traditions and practices, both written and oral. Once I finish university, I’m determined to fully dedicate myself to documenting everything properly. Both from the diaspora and people back home.
