Somali politics needs new blood

Tired of seeing the same group of odays running for the presidency and other high level positions we need a new crop of politicians from every region to steer us in a new direction these odays needs to step back and let the young generation take charge

We need youth. Someone like Ibrahim Traore. Im not going to bumlick him like those afrocentric people but out of the whole continent and all African head of states, I have seen the most improvement from his country. A 30-40 year old would be an amazing candidate that has intention for change and MOST IMPORTANTLY an educated man/woman.

some people may not like what Im going to say but we should have a female president. The males have failed since 1990.

a female president will make AS angry and they will start to chimp out. As they start to come out of the woodworks we would go ballistic on them and bomb them out of oblivion.

We need youth I agree but a Ibrahim Traore style politician would never work in Somalia tbh

1 year till the election what are khayres plans
All I can say is that he is in a great position right now and in good terms with almost everyone. Few days ago he met up with Madoobe in Nairobi. Met with Fahad Yasin. He also good with reer Puntland and sat with most of them behind closed door. Even the leelkase aviation minister is part of team Kheyre. Samaroon mp does all the Dir politicking for Kheyre. All of Dir with Kheyre including half of Hawiye (Gaaljecel, Murusade, Baadicade, Jajeele etc), as well as large portions of RX. I’m confident that Kheyre will reach the final round easily. Can’t wait for 2026 :westbrookswag:

Good to hear building bridges across somaliweyn will pay dividends Come election time

:russ: Somali politics is hilarious. Everyone is looking out for their own interests which is what makes all this so funny.
My advice is to just tune out of FGS politics at this point, its genuinely not worth anyone's time. Why? Because FGS doesn't have any impact on anyone's lives. Think about it: their members don't get elected by the public, they don't have the ability to tax regions, businesses will often refuse to pay them, ect. There is not a single sector or industry that FGS controls which impacts the self managing Somali economy. FGS is entirely funded by foreigners, why would anyone expect those politicians to answer to their citizens?

Focus on other regions politics instead. Puntland, Somaliland, Jubaland or whatever since those governments actually have somewhat an influence over their citizens instead of wondering who should get elected next or wasting time being outraged over the latest news from Villa Somalia that doesn't affect the average Somali. This isn't an admission of wanting balkanization either, simply wait for FGS to expire and get replaced by a locally made movement since the funds are drying up. You will be a lot happier that way.
