What Somali can't pronounce Arabic names? Every consonant in that language is in ours. I've seen this with some West African Muslims, doe. Girl went by "Hawa" and pronounced exactly like that. I looked at an Arab friend once and said "Why give her a name she can't pronounce?" nacalaa. But anyway, I hope to see a resurgence in maryoole names like mine but I doubt it will be so. 😢

Man, something about unabashedly nationalistic and proud Somali women just does it for me.
Don't fall for the ajanabi meme wayrada, Halimos are where it's at:banderas:

98% of Arabic names Somalis name their children are Muslims derived. I have never met Somalis named Rami, Maher, Fadi, etc.
Actually they do:

Aaliyah, Amal, Amina, Leyla, Amira, Hiba/o, Yasmeen, Sara, Iman,

These names sound common to me.

but it’s rare for Males.

Loool if you look at the name Baarliin and Berlin aren't even related. Baarliin means lime-coloured eyelashes, is a name given to a girl with lime coloured eyelashes at birth apparently

A certified Hooyo Mataalo mistake :francis:

Both my first name and last name are Somali.

Luckily my first name is easily pronounceable, but white people butcher my last name.

Mr. #7B!3%$

Arggghh, the butchering works on my nerves sometimes.

Modern Somalis like talking without substance.

Somalia is less Arabised today than it was in 1960. For instance, during the kacaan, three of the most popular newspapers were in Arabic.

Somalis love screaming about Arabisation but fail to realise that a stable Somalia will inevitably become more Arabised as we are in the Arab political sphere.

Just as how pre-1991 Somalia was more Arabised than today, a post-AS Somalia will be more Arabised than today.

You’re going to see Majid-Al-Futtaim owned Carrefours and shopping malls in Somalia as well as Arab petrol stations offering subsidised fuel.

How are you a retarded nationalist for saying Somalis should take Somali names over non-muslim arabic names?

Somali-Arab, the audacity to call sane people retarded when you are completely mindfucked
