Let's be real Somalis send money back home monthly for their families and relatives.

There is nothing wrong with sending sadaqa to other Muslims especially ones who are literally being exterminated.

They have it far worse than the typical Somali back home. Sometimes I'm convinced many diaspora Somalis speak from a place of privilege and are far detached from the reality back home. The only issue holding us back is we lack a solid strong federal government.

Last year when the El-Nino flood hit, they allocated around 15 million in relief money to help Somali families that was impacted. So safe to say a large amount is domestic

And this was during the 2011 drought that hit the entire horn. The western governments tried to prevent aid from getting to Somalia at the time, similar to what Isreal is doing in Gaza and sanctioned us because of the possibility of reaching AS. It was mainly Somalis and our Arab and Muslim friends like Turkey that was mobilizing food, attention and money at the early onset.

We have a camp the in between Somalis and Kenya that has half a million displaced Somali's. We should be helping this Somalis integration back to Somalia by raising funds for them. We Somalis have to learn you can not help people once you helped your people. Somalis first

Its not half a milllion i think the number is lower than that since almost 200.000 have returned overall and 79,113 between 2015 and 2019. Some years back the UN collected almost 500 million dollars from donors to help reintegrate them back to Somalia

But you are right charity often begins at home. So hope we do more on this.

Actually, Somalis are Muslims and support Islam and Muslims. It is part of our deen.

This product is actually sold in Palestinian and Arabic halal stores all over America, and is very popular in Palestine and Jordan. It’s called Ras al abed or head of a slave. As many of you know here, Arabs love to refer to dark skinned people as abed just like some Somalis like to refer to people with more African features with less pleasant names.

What is happening to Palestine is unfortunate and I wish them the best however, as a person who dealt with Arabs and Pakistanis those are two groups I will never go out on a limb for in regards to anything in this life on a personal level because I know how they speak about and treat Africans and it’s not good. To me I’d rather deal with an cadaan european even the most racist amongst them because they have more civility than the most educated Arab or Pakistani.

As far as the Somali government is concerned I don’t really understand Somali politics because I didn’t grow up there and I know they have strategic partnerships with other countries etc and unfortunately Somalia has been through a lot for a long time, and has itself had to receive donations from the world. Which I am actually partially against. I think this creates a dependency and the country won’t learn to sort out its own issues but that’s another story.

I’ll never forget when the whole Isis thing was going on and we found out that the Arabs put the Somalis, darkies and all foreigners on the first line of soldiers, virtually ensuring they would be killed first and put their own local people way in the back lines giving them far better survival odds. You put yourself on the line for these “brothers” of yours at your own risk but never try to encourage me to do so. Yemenis are the only cool ones in my personal experience the rest of them, good luck with your life.
