No it’s the numbers that is hard to understand not the saac word itselfmaybe that's cause saac is Arabic
It is not confusing here in finland in at 15:00 afternoon we say 3:00 and 16:00 we say 4:00

Did you learn both South and North method? Or did they only teach you how to say the time in South Somali style. Because South Somali and North Somalia have two completely different ways to tell the time.
It can be confusing if you have mix family/friends from the two regions (Hargeysa and Mogadishu), and you only learn one way to tell the time.

What @Baarisiyomoos is talking about is that in Somalia the day starts at 6am not midnight like everywhere else in the world.
So in Somalia, if someone asks you meet me at 4 in the morning, they mean 10 am. If someone wants to have dinner at 2 at night, it means 8 pm.

Lets say it's 8am and you ask someone what time is it?
Someone from Mogadishu will say: waa 2 saac subaxnimo
Someone from Hargeysa will say: waa 8dii subaxnimo which is basically the western way of telling the time.
So North and South have different way to tell the time.
My grandma asked me what time is it, i told her. She got confused. she was like no it can't be outside is not dark yet. she made me even more confused. that how i discovered that some somalis read time differently.
Used to confuse me so much growing up. I'd hear "6 at night" and just be like "???" but now I know they mean 12 AM.
Example 8 pm at night in is called 20:00

I think i learned the southern one, I only learned how to tell the time one way. For example if it’s 8 o clock in the morning now it’s labo saac in somali time because the clock starts at 6.

That’s not how the Somali time system works though, you’re talking about military clock that is often used in European countries. In somalia 8 pm at night would be labo saac habeenimo if I’m not mistaken cause you start counting from 6am.
Well somali dont do tht and Idk about military clock but it is is not weird to say labo saac i think some ppl count differently
Somali language isnt English nor somali ppl in somali dont follow English clock
It should stay tht way since somali ppl invented their own clock whether North south and others
