cameras weren't widely available back then. Somalis did family photo shoots on eid days or special occasions so they looked their best in those photos. My mother looks like a model in all of her old photos. but Somali women today are overweight and covered in ugly tents and Somali guys look quiet malnourished.
Nah I’ve gone through quite a few pictures and 7/10 of the women were healthy and beautiful, whereas it’s rare to find a dime nowadays who grew up in somalia. And the males usually were not as skinny as they are today.

very lowkey
Women don't have to be covered up to be Muslim. I have seen Muslim women who are uncovered, wear bikinis to the beach and have pet dogs. They are still Muslim.
There’s a different between being a muslim by association, and being a muslim who submits to the will of God.

Covered up women are alright, but I personally don't believe the hadiths that make life boring for women. I would prefer my wife not to cover up and first cousin marriages have been scientifically proven to cause some defects. Look at the Pakistani community and how many defects they have, you cannot honestly tell me it's a coincidence.

Why would you prefer that? I don’t see why covering up makes life boring. You making it seem like this life is all we have, while this dunya is not even worth a dime. First cousins aren’t mahrams of each other so they are allowed to marry one another. So I’m not questioning Allaah.

So you would support me marrying my mother's sisters daughter. That is nasty in my opinion and seems unholy.

I personally wouldn’t do it either because it’s to close, but if someone else wants to do it. Good for them. I’m only saying that it is halal for us to marry our first cousins, nothing more nothing less.

Allah's command? Nowhere in the Quran does it say that women cover themselves up so excessively, it does however say that in the Hadith.

Lie, the Quraan specifically calls for the wearing of the qamaar/hijab;

Surah Nuur, ayat 31;

31.And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers(Qamaar) over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

Background; women of the time before Islam wore qamaars that covered only their heads like their Christian counterparts at the time, but exposed their chest/neck. Here in this ayat Allah decrees the hijab, and commands that our sisters expand the qamaar to not only cover the head but to cover the neck/chest/etc. And also as important a code of conduct that comes with it like lowering your gaze from looking at forbidden things like us men have to do as well.
