When it comes to money people don't care. The only time they care is when its being done back to them thats when they will cry woe is me. Like you can't simply abstain from jobs that engage in adding harm and decimating countries and innocent people? Furthermore, this reminds me of how people couldn't even boycott corporations? Have we become so soft. How are we letting these rich people dictate what happens in the world.

The rich and powerful have always dictated what happens in the world not exactly a new concept

People can disagree with me but Somalis are the most religious muslim group in the west and it hasn’t benefitted us much tbh. I’m not saying take off your hijab or change your name to Mo to try and assimilate because people will still perceive you as a foreigner even if you do that lol.

My point is other muslims don’t care about usury or interest which is why they buy homes & dgaf about if mortgages are halal or not while Somalis are stuck in gov housing. Their imams preach to Somalis about how interest is an awful sin but don’t comment on members of their own ethnic group who buy homes in this way. You have arab & desi outreach groups in tech companies that encourage them to join the defense industry because it pays so well meanwhile Somalis are shaming each other for working at banks.

The worst part is other muslims are quick to attack when they see a Somali doing something out of the norm for us like this guy but you’ll never see them do this to their own even though the DMV area is full of muslims who work as defensecontractors. They do this to make up for their own ethnic group’s lack of religiosity & try and hold Somalis to a higher standard than other muslims which is why a Bangladeshi of all people thinks it’s okay to say this. Like what does this even mean?? “Fucking abdi” might as well as be a racial slur.

This is also why they feel comfortable spreading that idea that the average Somali woman is immodest or a non hijabi when anyone who lives around Somalis know that’s a lie. They do this to cope with the fact that the average muslim from their ethnic group is non practicing/a non hijabi. If a Somali is irreligious or working for a morally unethical company then the ummah has collapsed in their eyes & they go on attack mode against us. I also blame the Somalis who go “oh we don’t claim them” which has made people feel comfortable doing this.

I expect ajanabis to do this tbh but it’s disappointing coming from other Somalis. I understand being religious and disagreeing with the guy but screenshotting his linkedin (which was what the guy in that tweet did) and letting people hate on him is crazy & disgusting.

Sorry for the rant but essentially I agree with the message below. The dude was making a ton of money and helping other Somalis only to be for his own people to do this. Just disappointing

Yes, these desis and Arabs police Somalis religiosity; it's insane.

I first noticed this about 20 years ago in the UK. Desi's would bad mouth Somali women for being "loud and unIslamic" meanwhile the imam's wife wouldn't even be wearing hijab.

Desi that I would go to uni with; they all use to sleep together. Arabs would go out drinking and doing all sorts.

Arabs and Desi not only work for these defence contractors, they all have mortgages and drink and sell alcohol.

Meanwhile, they are preaching to Somalis since the 90s not to use Riba. So now we have a situation that the Afghani who came in 2011 is renting his house to the Somali family who have been here since 1992.

It's a sad situation for Somalis.

I would advise all Somalis to buy houses.
