Reading this thread made me feel sad. I have to be cautious about my job around other Somalis because I never know when they might turn on me. Fortunately, my family is supportive.

If I remember correctly, didn't something similar happen to a Somali MP in Canada?

In the future, I need to remember to be discreet about my activities around other Somalis, such as obtaining a mortgage to purchase my home.

Most Somalis wont turn on you or care about what you do. Everyones just focusing on themselves at the end of the day. Its between you and your Lord. And nowadays a lot of Somalis are obtaining a mortgage for a home.

This whole thread is a wonderful case-study into the psyche of the average western Somali. To all of you who are on the fence about mortgages realize 1 very important thing that outweighs everything else imo. If you are a homeowner most likely your kids will end up in better suburban schools, and if you are a renter your kids will likely end up in inner-city schools where there is too high a risk of them joining a gang or being otherwise negatively influenced. Think long and hard about that before you doom your future children to low-income neighborhoods filled with uneducated riff-raff that they will emulate. All Somali gang members and drug dealers come from such deprived areas and not the suburbs.

If there was a way of buying homes without interests, many Somali families would have bought, it’s not a money issue but rather we don’t do riba

I have no issue in discussing the ethics of working for these type of companies, especially as an immigrant of a predominantly islamic background, but as many others in this thread have said. He's not the first to do it, he's the only somali to do it, yet he's become the face of it, BY ANOTHER SOMALI

Only community that can be filled to the brim with racists making us fight multiple other communities for no reason AND self hating making us look like shit and targeting their own for no reason
